The Best of Sherlock Holmes

A Checklist Supplement:
Selected Bookseller and Auction Catalogue Information

The Checklist identifies many catalogues with illustrations of Conan Doyle manuscript pages.  The List of Citations generally organizes this information by publication title.  In the case of bookseller and auction catalogues, it groups the publications together by a common bookseller or auction house name even if the publication has a distinct title.

All of this makes it easy to find facsimiles by either story title or source title.  However, when doing research it is also useful to know what other sources have already been checked and found to have no relevant material.  This supplement provides some additional information about certain bookseller and auction house catalogues.

House of El Dieff (New York) Catalogues

In most library catalogs, these are usually listed with "Lew David Feldman" as the author and "House of El Dieff" as a corporate author.   Detailed citations for those catalogues with reproductions are found on the List of Citations under "H" for "House of El Dieff."  Catalogue content is listed below in date order and is classified as "No (applicable) reproductions", "On checklist", or "Not yet seen."
