Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I find something on this site?
A: The Site Index page contains links
to all the major sections of the site.
Q: Do you have any books or magazines for sale?
A: Yes, the For Sale page lists a
number of items for sale.
Q: What are these four-letter acronyms like "SCAN"
or "HOUN"?
A: Many Sherlockian writings refer to the tales by using an
abbreviation of the story title. The conventional abbreviations were devised by
Jay Finley Christ and use four letters. This site uses the more common
all-capital form (ABBE), but some writers use only a leading capital letter
(Abbe). This site has a key to the abbreviations sorted
by title and by abbreviation.
Q: May I link to this site?
A: Yes, please do link to HTML pages at this site. Details
on linking and other uses of this site are described on the Copyright page.
Q: Why are the site navigation links hard to read?
A: Some browsers (especially older versions) display the
links using your default color settings, which may be hard to read against the
black background. If you cannot read the top banner, use the site navigation
links at the bottom of every page.
Q: Where should I send e-mail with a comment about the site?
A: To reduce spam, my e-mail address is given on this e-mail page.
