My Wants

Advertisements

I am interested in advertisements from before 1930 for books and magazines with Sherlock Holmes stories.  The advertisements could be in any newspaper, magazine or other publication – but they should mention Holmes or Conan Doyle.  I am most interested in advertisements for first magazine appearances (e.g., an upcoming story in Collier's Weekly) or Holmes book first editions.  I'd prefer original advertisements but could use photocopies of ads, and it helps if it includes the exact ad publication info (name of newspaper or magazine the ad appeared in, date, volume and issue number, page number).

Facsimiles

-         Beeton's Christmas Annual 1887 (Gibson Centenary facsimile version) with A Study in Scarlet by A. Conan Doyle

-         The Sherlock Holmes Illustrated Omnibus, vol. 1.  (Facsimile edition of the Sherlock Holmes stories in the Strand Magazine)

-         Facsimile publications of Sherlock Holmes stories that appeared in the Strand Magazine after 1906.  This would include the stories in The Valley of Fear, His Last Bow, and The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes. (note: I already have The Original Illustrated 'Strand' Sherlock Holmes from Wordsworth/Mallard Press.)
